Spanish Property Market Shows More Signs Of Slowing

A recent report from the Provincal Association of Real Estate Promoters (PROVIA) has shown that there has been a considerable reduction in the amount of new homes being constructed in the Alicante region of Spain. The report, which shows just 489 new housing starts recorded in Alicante for the periof January through to April this year, is all the more significant as Alicante has traditionally been a hotbed of overseas property investment.

With there being an estimated 50,000 new homes currently unsold in the region, this reduction in new construction should go some way towards addressing the current supply-demand imbalance in property in Alicante.
